Tip of the month

Golf Tip - Tee up to Drive away

Do you slice to the right with your driver? Picture this nightmare scenario. You are on the tee of a hole where there is out of bounds/woods/lake/jungle up the right hand side. With your propensity to slice this is the hole you are not looking forward to.

The natural instinct is to try to get as far away from the right hand side trouble as you can, so most people do what I have done in picture 1. WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG

If you do this you are actually setting up aiming towards the danger that you are trying to avoid. You must actually tee up on the right hand side, right next to the danger, as in picture 2. This way you are now hitting away from the danger and looking at the left hand side of the fairway.

I know this doesn’t seem logical, but next time you are on a hole like the one I have described, try it, you should know by now that nothing is logical about golf, what on earth is logical about wandering around a large field in all weathers with a funny shaped stick trying to hit a spherical object down a hole, great fun but certainly not the actions of a sane logical human being.

Lessons are available on either an individual basis or in groups, whichever you prefer. Our theory is simple – to teach golfers to play to their full potential so that they can have more fun out on the course.

In the words of our Director of Golf:

“…the World Of Golf teaching philosophy and system is the simplest and most effective method I have ever used for getting the message across to the student. The format of an initial warm up period leading into an intensive coaching session and winding down with a summary of key points learnt, works particularly well. And, it is evident from our re-bookings that the students are enjoying the success they have been able to achieve so far”.
